Suns of Earth documents and highlights the beauty of not only brotherhood, but the natural human need for a sense of belonging too! Something of which I’ve been searching for a long time, personally, this project helped to put into perspective that there are so many experiences that connect us to one another. Cultural and spiritual levels. Our upbringings and traditions, struggles, triumph, resilience, faith in God. We are all connected at the roots, which alone provides a place and someone to belong to!

Through creating this project it was evident that we’re never really alone. We are the suns of the earth. We are where greatness is birthed and we have everything within us to overcome obstacles through unity.

One of my major objectives in the work is to reflect humanity as I see or want to see it and exploring that with the team in which I’m creating!

I felt an overwhelming calm and ease, particularly during the Baptism phase which felt appropriate! We’d been shooting for a while under the sun and it felt like we’d used so much of our energy “in the beginning” and through “power and war”. It was refreshing to have a moment where we could altogether have a moment of gratitude, serenity and peace! A spiritual connection that felt like the only right way to end this project.
